The SVDC supports the diverse small business community of the greater Silicon Valley. We provide and exchange information for the benefit of the diverse business community and serve as a focal point for connecting our members with Corporate and Government procurement and or contract opportunities.
Our Mission
“To foster diverse economic development and to create sustainable prosperity for the benefit of American society.”
We attract, support, and grow diverse Silicon Valley business through advocacy and economic development. The Silicon Valley is the economic engine for the state and country and in so many ways, the world. The Silicon Valley Diversity Coalition is the vibrant business network for the Silicon Valley small and diverse business community and an active player in the region. We are comprised of ethnic and LGBTQ chambers including the SBDCs, Small Business Development Centers, and business institutions located in and providing products and services to the greater Silicon Valley community. Cognizant of our role in the greater Silicon Valley community, we embrace the ideals of both economic and social justice.
Our Story
Although we have been meeting together informally over the years, we recently established a coalition that represents the diverse small business community of the Silicon Valley. The recent social and economic catastrophe that has befallen us due to Covid 19 requires focused support to help small diverse business to not only survive but to grow and prosper. This coalition serves as a single place where are our chamber organizations can locate and identify resources and also serves as a central location for buyers/ procurement. We encourage the buyers, the local governments of SiIicon Valley, the corporate enterprises, the public and private utilities such as PG&E, Valley Water, and VTA to use this site to identify products and service companies from the diverse and small business community. We are here – ready to do business. This site serves as the Procurement Exchange for the Silicon Valley.
Our Work
Our pillars are diversity, equity, inclusion, education, advocacy, economic development and social justice – we influence and identify chamber leaders and members, events, programs and initiatives – all designed to boost business and economic success. We provide leadership on issues important to diverse business and take collective action to advance sustainable economic growth and a better Silicon Valley. George Bush touted “no child left behind”. Our call is “no diverse business left behind”.
